Broadbeach isn’t Italy, but after a glass of their Vermentino, it’s certainly close. Aperol shelves, marble tables and a terrazzo bar dripping in greenery.
Owner Henry built Sofia’s after spending four years in Florence: unhurried, generous & made for sharing.
The cacio e pepe is finished tableside in a giant aged parmesan wheel, such a beautiful way to capture the tradition. The seafood pasta is bright with chilli, lemon and garlic, and slippery enough to make sharing a test of character. The lemon meringue is a homemade family recipe, built for two spoons and zero pretence of sharing evenly.
Date tip: book near the bar as the light softens and make sure you try a frozen lychee martini.
Order to share: burrata, tartare, both pastas, a light Sangiovese.

If you don’t have time to head to Broadbeach? Locals can can now find the Sofia’s team at HOTA’s market every Sunday serving up their iconic meals such as the famous cacio e pepe in take home portions @hotamarkets .
Their new homewares range has recently launched too “ Sofia’s Homewares” and they will be sharing more in the coming weeks.
