TALK ABOUT A FEELGOOD FACTOR WEEK!

One of the things I love most about my work is meeting people who care deeply about what they do, and the past few weeks have been full of them. Being welcomed into their spaces, hearing their stories and helping them share a little of themselves through photos is such a lovely part of what I get to do.

In this edition, I’m sharing a morning with Janine, her team and their clients at Aspire Wellness Hub, Runaway Bay. It was a privilege to see the care and encouragement they offer and hear just how much those connections mean to the people who visit each week.

There was also plenty of joy at Move Over Mama’s charity event, where Emily Jade O’Keeffe, her daughter Millie Valentine and their wonderful community came together to raise an incredible $50,000 for Act for Kids. It was a day full of laughter, generosity and a very enthusiastic dance floor, and I was so happy to be part of it.

ASPIRE WELLNESS HUB - RUNAWAY BAY

SOME MORNINGS LEAVE YOU WITH A FULL HEART.

My morning at Aspire Wellness Hub in Runaway Bay was one of them.

When Janine reached out about photos for their new website and socials, I was so happy to say yes. I've spent most of this year photographing lifestyle and hospitality clients, so this felt a little different. I didn't realise yet just how special it would be.

Within minutes of walking into Aspire, I could feel it. Janine and her dedicated team have built this space with their clients in mind. They meet every person exactly as they are, wherever they are in their fitness or rehabilitation journey.

There is no intimidation and no judgement, just warmth, patience and people who truly care about wellbeing. 

I spent the morning with PT clients working on their strength and fitness, alongside regular rehab clients, including people living with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Down syndrome, as well as people who require assistance with mobility. They generously shared their stories with our team, their wins, their hard days and what keeps them coming back. For some, their time with Janine and her team is the highlight of their week. By the end of the morning, I completely understood why.

There was so much laughter. There were quiet moments of encouragement, a hand on a shoulder, a proud smile after a rep that took everything. Being trusted to capture those moments is something I don't take lightly.

Janine, to you, your incredible team and every client who welcomed Charlotte and myself in, thank you.

You reminded me why I love what I do. I left with a camera full of beautiful images and a heart even fuller.

INSIDER WEEKLY
MOVE OVER MAMA EVENT

Last weekend, I had the privilege of supporting a very special charity event at The Star Gold Coast, hosted by the formidable mother and daughter duo Emily Jade O’Keeffe and Millie Valentine, hosts of @moveovermama, a local podcast for parents and teens.

The ballroom was filled with love and support as 260 members of their loyal community of listeners came together to raise funds for @actforkids.

Since 1988, Act for Kids has delivered evidence-based therapy and support to children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of, harm. Its team of more than 490 psychologists, speech therapists, counsellors, occupational therapists, early education specialists and family support workers operates across 35 centres nationally, helping thousands of families.

My highlights from the day included:

✨ Watching 16-year-old Gold Coast singer Ethan Dahl @ethandahl absolutely own the stage with his newly released single.

🎙️ The live podcast recording with TikTok Creator of the Year @Havea676.

🎨 The live art and photo booth station led by talented local artist @jesselou.

💃 A dance floor packed with mums and daughters, high on life on a Sunday afternoon, thanks to the amazing @djclariti.

🛍️ A wonderful collection of local sponsor stalls, offering everything from books to custom jewellery, all for a great cause.

The grand total? $50,000 raised for Act for Kids!

Huge congratulations to the whole team and every sponsor who so generously contributed their time, energy and support to make it happen.

My takeaway came from Havea: “There is always a chance to find something else that you love in life, and you don’t have to always get it right.”

So true.
