A LITTLE SUNSHINE, A LOT OF GOOD PEOPLE

We’re halfway through spring, summer is edging closer and those warmer days are making it very tempting to sneak in a little more saltwater time.

Anyone else feeling that pull?

It’s been a lovely, full few weeks behind the camera, spending time with some wonderful locals you’ll meet below. From the experienced, close-knit team at Astill Cronin Lawyers to the wonderfully creative Kellie North at Studio 8, I keep finding myself surrounded by people who love what they do and generously share that passion with others.

I also had the privilege of capturing Be There Foundation’s inaugural Rolling Lunch, an occasion with so much heart behind it. Being involved in something that will help support people affected by domestic violence on the Gold Coast was a reminder of how much good our community can do when we come together.

Between it all, there have been plenty of edits, the ever-present admin, school emails, coffee refills and little saltwater resets.

It’s busy, but this work makes me so happy. The people, the stories, the chance to create, it’s a pretty lovely way to spend my days.

Now, if I could just find someone to do the ironing…

Familiar faces, a fresh look.

It’s always lovely when work brings you together with people you already know, so this one felt a little extra special.

Knowing Director Ash Cronin, I was delighted to be invited to work with their marketing lead, Candace, and the team at Astill Cronin Lawyers. Together, we mapped out their three-month online strategy, with reels, refreshed headshots and candid team shots to bring their people and personality into the spotlight.

With more than 50 years of experience, this established firm combines premium legal expertise with the personal care of a close-knit team. It was a real pleasure to spend time with them and capture the warmth behind the work.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know I love supporting local artists. Through my Locals We Love series, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Kellie North, the artist behind Studio 8 in Currumbin.

Built for artists and run by an artist, this light-filled gallery hosts rotating exhibitions and creates opportunities for local creatives to connect, be mentored and share their work. Upstairs, resident artists lead workshops where you can learn new skills and enjoy making art.

As someone who loves visual storytelling, it’s a space close to my heart.

Come and have a wander this weekend.

You know sometimes you just meet someone and think “yep, you’re amazing”

That’s how I felt meeting Kellie North.

A photographer and visual artist, Kellie brings nature, movement and emotion together to create images that tell a story, something very close to my own heart.

But what also resonates with me is her desire to see other artists soar, giving them space to explore, express themselves and share their creativity.

I love meeting people who champion others, and Kellie’s passion for helping our local creative community shine makes her someone I’m delighted to introduce you to.

A ROLLING LUNCH WITH PURPOSE

a Very Good Reason to Get Together.

On 10 October, Be There Foundation’s inaugural Rolling Lunch took guests on a delicious little adventure through Sanctuary Cove, stopping at George’s, Native Harvest, Pablito’s and Destino.

I was honoured to be behind the camera, capturing some of the magic Shaan, Jessie and Kirsty created.

With activities along the way and the support of partners Mulpha and Sanctuary Cove, these ladies brought people together in the most wonderful way, all to raise awareness and funds for people affected by domestic violence on the Gold Coast.

Behind the fun was a cause that deserves our attention.

Queensland has incredible domestic violence services and people doing extraordinary work, but full beds, huge caseloads and funding criteria mean some needs still fall through the gaps. That’s where Be There Foundation steps in.

A little venue hopping, a lot of heart and a community showing up for others. Shaan, Jessie and Kirsty, what a beautiful beginning.
